completing a half finished CH install

As per title of this site, I'll be doing it myself! So that is not an option :) It's not rocket science I'm sure so I'll let you all know how it goes. Maybe I should open this in a thread as a project?

completing a half finished CH install

Hi all. There is DEFFO no other pipes in the air cupboard other than these: the two half inch pipe in background are hot and cold supply going down and through to the shower. The two 1 inch are for the hot tank inverter coil.

Ah right. Well they all have thick white insulation on them that can be seen at the floor finish. I will triple check (already double checked!) for the CH flow and return pipes to rads (not the invertor coil ones there) but I'm almost certain theyre not there :(

Would it have helped if all exposed pipe ends where sealed (thus no oxygen in to corrode pipes)?

completing a half finished CH install

Ok, I've tried to sketch what's going on. This picture shows The pipes as they are. and this is how I'm guessing (!) the pipes are layed out under the concrete. If they are I will simply dig up a small area of the concrete floor in airing cupboard to expose where they tee off ond...

completing a half finished CH install

Thanks. I understand the typical layout but the only exposed pipes in the whole layout are two 1-inch pipes in boiler house (primary flow and return for boiler to be fitted to) and two 1 inch pipes protruding out of the airing cupboard concrete floor. That's it. What I'm presuming is that the...

Can someone tell me what the reasoning is behind the non use of conventional light switches in bathrooms? What is it that makes pull cord ones ok? So what are the regs (in simple terms) on electrics in bathrooms??

Adding a radiator to single line GB central heating system

Hi all. I've been asked to add a radiator for someone. The house was built in '69 and by the look of the rad layout (and before I start taking up the floorboards!) it's a single line system. It's pretty much all Gun Barrel and there is also a back boiler that can be used. Their boiler is run...
