    Are you talking about a new light switch or a fitting on the ceiling? The way your post is worded indicates you have one cable, correct? And you say green yellow - is this one wire (green & yellow) or two seperate ones? One green, one yellow?

    Should be OK to fit a UK plug on the extension lead, but you might want to eventually swap the plugs on the appliances for ease of use.

    What do you mean by light sockets? And what's the planned use of the lights? (I don't mean so it's not dark anymore!) Lighting isn't usually plugged in.
