Hi mate, I have the same problem with the concrete counterweight on the Hotpoint AQ9D69I. I can get the part, but cant see how to get the front of the machine off. Looks welded. Did you find a walkthrough? cheers

What do you think this is?

It all depends how well you get on with the neighbour... They are clearly on his property, even if he says he didn't put them there. I'd ask him politely - he could dispose of these easily at the council tip for free so long as he takes proof of address. They will need to be wrapped first...

    Panicking!!! Possible Asbestos exposure

I didn't land here for a big willy contest. Someone asked a question and i knew i could answer it. Any tradesman here are an authority in their own field, and i know mine very well. When you can see people taking guesses, and you can give a definitive answer, you do so. I wouldn't ask a gas...

    Panicking!!! Possible Asbestos exposure

Amanda actually took a very good photo - including a close up. I can CATEGORICALLY state that i know this material is Asbestos - and not just that , the type of asbestos. As sure as you can look at grass and know it is grass. I have experience with literally THOUSANDS of asbestos instances -...

    Panicking!!! Possible Asbestos exposure

Hi a) You say H&S how it is, i'm saying how it was. The tunnels have, i think all but been cleared now, but only finished in the last few years. The tunnel ceilings used to be coated with a sprayed on asbestos coating AKA 'flock' which was a thick layer of raw chrysidolite/amosite as a fire...

    Panicking!!! Possible Asbestos exposure

Lets get one thing straight - i am not 'hamming it up' and stand to make no profit from the advice. I own one of only 3 types of business which requires a government enforced licence, and as such have a duty of care to the public to inform and warn if necessary. This was such a case. Everyone...

    Panicking!!! Possible Asbestos exposure

Hi I have been in the asbestos industry for 15 years and now am a Director of my own removal company. Take it from me...this IS definitely asbestos. Amosite to be technical. Brown asbestos. Dont take any notice of the colour. It is the second worse type next to pipe insulation and broken dry...

HELP with Surrey flange please. Need advice

HELP with Surrey flange please. Need advice

Thanks for your quick replies. I did wonder this myself as you can see the nut sits on top of a raised boss. As the raised bit is circular and no flat edges to get a wrench on, i assumed it must be part of the tank rather than a fitting. I need to cut the copper pipe in order to twist it out...

HELP with Surrey flange please. Need advice

Could someone please help as i am in the throws of finishing my en suite and have hit a problem. I purchased a Surrey flange a couple of months ago as i knew i would need one for my power shower installation. All pipework to and from my HW storage tank is 22mm so i assumed i had the correct...

Fire door regs - advice please

My loft extension is coming on great and i have picked up some half hour fire doors to satisfy the building inspector. I am aware that i need to install self closing mechanisms and will be buying these shortly. The question i have is that concerning the frames themselves. I have already...
