    Ok great, I will look to add conduit to this area and take away the water to elsehwere, I will also test the clay levels to see how deep my clay goes.

    Thank you. I shall look at options for running a French drain away from this area, as this solution i have attempted isn't enough for the qty of water we get in the North East of England.

    Update: I have dig a French drain along patio edge, about 12" deep, back filled with membrane and gravel. Lots of rain last night and as you can see flooded. Any advice greatly received. Thank you.

    Thank you for your replies, there is no water outlet anywhere near. So my next option would be French drain or soakaway I believe. If i were to dig down 6 inchs or so and back fill with just shingle, would this surfice? Or do you recommended i look at installing soakaway in this area? Thanks...

    I have contacted the fitter, he said he will drill some drainage holes in the white channel, is this normal ? I worry he's not addressing the issue of how water is getting there in first place? Thanks.
