99%sure that they are the same size cable
Think its the perspective on the isolator photo
I can measure the copper with a vernier tomorrow if that helps?!
Heses the cable, doesn't have the size on it.
It measures about 11mm wide.
There is insulation over a couple of metres of it in the loft
Any idea what size it is?
Thanks
Thanks everyone.
I'll just replace the prd for now, rather than the whole shower.
It means there is still no RCD on the circuit for the time being but I'll get an electrician round to quote for fitting one.
Cheers
Its not that bad, just not very powerful at all.
I'm really not trying to 'save' money, I just don't have money at the moment. I was just thinking I could scrape together £40 for a new slightly more powerful shower instead of £10 for the replacement pressure release device for the existing...
Is an RCBO something that would be suitable? And something I can fit in place of an MCB?
The consumer unit is an MK sentry if it makes any difference.
Thanks
Thanks guys, I'll check the cable then decide
Just don't have the money for an electrician to come out for an RCD, so maybe I'll just repair the old crappy one
If the cable is OK then i'll probably just swap the showers then.
Really don't have the money to get an electrician to fit an RCD and the associated work. Hard times at the moment!
If it really was required I'd have to look to repair the old shower instead.
Thanks everyone
(Just hoping...
Thanks for the replies.
Not sure how it is routed, think it it clipped up a wall, then not sure for a section up to loft height, then possibly loose in loft but could clear the insulation away up there and clip to a joist. Will depend what I find in loft I guess.
Is the 45A breaker OK...
