    Lighting under bathroom

I've never actually read the part B regs. I thought that in a normal domestic 2 story house you need F rated on the ground floor to slow the rate of spread of fire, but in most houses I know the pendants may have started as a single cable burried in plaster but they end up a gaping whole eventually.

    Lighting under bathroom

Having had experience of this... Are IP65 downlights IP65 rated only from the exposed front or the entire unit? My utility room ceiling is underneath a bathroom, the external wiring aside, would an IP65 rated light have continued to function while slightly wet or would water easily ingress...

    Eu power regulations

The informed choice with these devices has existed for years, in the case of some of these devices they reference more efficient designs from the 80s. After a while you have to stop the production of the cheap to build but overall more expensive old stuff. This stops the retailers flogging cheap...

    Eu power regulations

If you read the actual paper released by the EU (there is a link on the BBC), there is quite a lot of thought going into each decision. The 30 product groups are assessed for more than just power but also material use. It's quite interesting. The basis of the "ban" is to stop production of out...

    Improving insulation to house (gradually)

I'm planning to improve the insulation to rooms as we alter / decorate them. The heating system (ASHP) as been sized by calculations for the current design (going off the original 1984 plans). So I'm only looking for easy improvements (new roof would be out of the question as it's 140 sq m and...

Replace Velux with a normal double glazed unit

That was my thinking. I have already had a quote for Velux replacement, and this guy could also do it, but he was offering it as an alternative. I didn't want to dismiss the idea just because I'd never seen it work. I'll wait for a few more replies incase anyone pops along with a link to...

Replace Velux with a normal double glazed unit

After a bit of advice. I had a guy from round last night to look at some windows / conservatory. Before you jump to conclusions, it's a local small family business, well recommended and the guy was ery honest about what needed doing. I asked him to quote to replace some 30 year old wooden...

    Radiators

As 4 of the rads will replace storage heaters, the wiring for fan assisted rads will be a lot easier that I first thought so these might be an option. The only downside seems to be the cost. I will need 14 rads.

    Radiators

They'll be multiples I the big rooms, I'd didn't want to go above that sort of size because (a) they'd be too big and ugly and (b) I thought it better to spread the heat sources around the room. The sizes come from an initial thermal calc of the house which is all I'll have until the engineer...

    Radiators

Is it too much to hope for a reply to my actual question? I'm not after personal opinion on my heating system, I'm after recommendations for quality radiator brands. There are perfectly sensible reasons why I'm having radiators and of course there will be a thermal model, I do after all want to...

    Radiators

I'm buying a house, which once we move will be fitted with it's first real CH system. I don't want to debate my choice, pending the visit from the engineer it'll probably be ASHP. I'm looking at choices for radiators. I'm ruling out aluminium because I don't want to mix with steel and I don't...
