Thanks for the advice guys. The tool box doesn't stretch to an angle grinder right now (and nor will the wallet!) but I'm loving the idea of drilling it out. I never would have thought of that, and I have a bit of brick work to do elsewhere so repointing it wont be an issue. Thanks again.
Please have a look at the photos.
Any ideas how to get rid of this (preferably without using a wrecking bar - I'd already thought of that!). I tried turning the fixing on the left, assuming it was a kind of screw. Its pretty rusty so it took a bit of effort (and a pair of pliers) but I got...
Thanks for all the help. I ended up getting the wire upgraded as well as changing the fuse (or whatever it is - its in what I'd call a fuse box and I hope you all knew what meant!). New 10.5kW shower is working nicely. Really good to have all the info before making the decision though, and...
Update ... the stabiliser valve (which appears to be the bit I'd need) seems to be discontinued for 10.5kW models anyway. This is looking like being one of THOSE jobs!
Maybe someone can explain this to me ...
I have a 10.5 kW Triton Ivory II shower that has been in the bathroom since before we moved in 3 years ago. Its developed an internal leak - when I take the front panel off and start it up, water squirts out from the temperature control dial. I'm...
Thanks for the reply. The mist coat was roughly half paint and half water. We just used cheap (B&Q own brand) white, matt emulsion. Apparently it has a low VOC content (whatever that is!).
So do you feel its unlikely that the plaster will have been damaged then? I can deal with paint...
Thanks very much for the quick reply.
Do you (or anyone else) have any idea what the results of painting the mist coat too early might be? Will it just take longer to dry or have I totally ruined the new plaster and will need to get the plasterers to start again?! Perhaps there's someone...
Had our front bedroom replastered (all walls and ceiling) more than 2 weeks ago and was told it'd be fine to paint a "mist coat" of watered down emulsion after a few days (one week max). We left it a little longer as there were still a couple of very slightly darker areas above the windows but...
