my hot tank is on landing near bathroom and cold is in loft is this ok??. if i used old supply from bath taps to new shower would it work ok or would something break or go wrong.thanks.

I am fitting a new power shower and the instructions say to plumb pipes from the cold tank and hot tank, but the old one I am ripping out is taken off pipes which go to the baths hot and cold taps, will it work if I do the same??Please help
