Hi, am buildinga new extension and doing a concrete floor instead of an elevated wood floor that I have in the current house. Will have the concrete floor screeded. Do building regs require a layer of insulation of some sort before or after screeding or is the use of a waterproof membrane...
He made it sound so attractive...On secon thought I'll probably just return both to homebase and get the rubbery combilay from wicks or b&q. Homebase one has a layer of what looks like styrafoam inside and then silver sheating on either side.
Super thanks. I bought a combi from homebase as b&q seemed to run out of there rubber one, doesn't look as good but hopefully do the job. Builder also suggested an extra layer of that cheap 2mm layer for some added comfort. Does that make sense?
Floor was screeded about 4 weeks ago...
I'm planning to lay laminate flooring on to a concrete underfloor. Builder has used a waterproof membrane below the concrete but do I need to use another one on top before I lay the laminate? Places like wicks and b&q have different types of combination underlying which say they stop moisture...
Is there a building regs requirement to insulate a concrete floor in any way? Builder put down a waterproof membrane but thats about it, is that enough?
I just find it quite low as i don't use a wheel chair. My handles are all about 120cm high, the lowest in my house beeing 104cm high. Anyone know what a standard range possible would be in a travis perkins bought panelled door?
Super, thanks for your help, builder installed holes at 90cm and screwed up, told me building regs needed them at that hight but I told him that unless I was 4ft tall he made a mistake
Does anyone know if there is a regulation on how high/low my internal door handles need to be? Just did an extension and was looking to put them at around 110cm, is that compliant with building regs? Thanks
I have a kinetico 2020c system and have switched from gravity fed system to a megaflow, does anyone know where i can get a conversion kit so that I can still keep the same kinetico water softener but use it with my new pressurised system? Has anyone done this before as I really want to avoid...
I'm having an extension built and the front room window ledge is aprox 80cm from the floor, window being a bit higher due to frame. When does this window need to be toughened and when doesn't it? My back patio door I assume needs to be toughened/safetey glass?
the actual 2020c water softener from being connected to gravity system to being connected to a pressurised system. I understood that there are normally 2 different models sold, HE (one I have) for the gravity fed system and another model for a pressurised system.
I have a kinetico 2020c system and have switched from gravity fed system to a megaflow, does anyone know where i can get a conversion kit? Has anyone done this before as I really want to avoid buying a whole new system as they are expensive!
