Help needed - loud noises upstairs when taps on

:? From my lengthy discussions with the installer the pipe in question will always havd been mains fed as its cold. Does that not make sense?

Help needed - loud noises upstairs when taps on

Yes, only two taps create the noise, for exmaple, a filtered water tap fed off the same pipe as the kitchen main tap doesn't though the kitchen main tap does. It's not quite hissing - more rushing but restricted... I guess it would mean getting to the pipes to check that, so hoping to find...

I certainly didn't type my first post tonight on an iPhone! I do have one though, why? I guess I'm missing the joke here :?

I don't think any pipes have been clamped... ? legacy pipes were not touched as I understand it, new pipes all seem to be fixed to the wall well...

Help needed - loud noises upstairs when taps on

Wow, that's pretty alarming - an organisation touting vetting and monitoring and founded on reviews has that reputation in the trade :? . What hope is there! I guess I need to leave an honest and fair review once all the questions are resolved... The kitchen taps are two lever thingys...

Is a PRV needed on combi conversion wtih 6bar mains?

Thank you both again. There is no canister tpye affair near to the boiler (or in the garage at all). If repeat attempts at balancing don't sort out the rads is another power flush an idea in case there is sediment? All rads have become hot so are capable, but just on this one day after...

Is a PRV needed on combi conversion wtih 6bar mains?

Thank you both for taking the time... to conclude: Dan, thanks. Place was not unoccupied, just not occupied by us, I would have thought it to be extremely likely that the legacy system required a shower pump but then maybe that's not always the case... Hazetimesfive, thanks also. What is...

Thanks Alan, can I check this for myself or would I need a plumber?

Hi doitall, Firstly, I did try to get this info to you yesterday as promised but events consipered against me, so apologies for that. Also, exhaustion induced delerium meant that in my last post I forgot to refer you to an earlier topic I raised which is now overlapping this one... didn't...

Help needed - loud noises upstairs when taps on

Thanks oilhead & boilerdoktor, oilhead: - Actually I think that the previous owners would have said if they had a noise, obviously not before we'd bought the place but once all money is transferred and we've moved in why not? I had a long chat with him and he was very helpful with ideas...

Is a PRV needed on combi conversion wtih 6bar mains?

Yes that's the view of everyone that's heard it. Weird part is that previous owners swear there was never any noise, but plumber maintains it would always have been there as the pipe is a cold pipe which would always have been mains pressured. Hoping there is someway to avoid taking up floors as...

Is a PRV needed on combi conversion wtih 6bar mains?

We were not living in the house before the works, but I am a bit confused by the question as I assumed the mains pressure was the mains pressure independent of the system? There are lots of possibly related or unrelated problems. Was trying to keep the post simple as I have a tendancy to be...
