I noticed by chest freezer has 2 random plastic sticky out bits at back top on either end. Its 2" of extra depthspace if saw off, I have no idea what purpose they may serve.
I'm hoping a dishwasher purchase may have a similar space saving opportunity. Trouble is if your buying online you just...
Wondering if can place an integrated dishwasher in an under counter space, that is basically for a free standing appliance.
The reason being is a free standing dishwasher is going to petrude about 4cm out beyond the counter and surrounding cupboards.
An integrated dishwasher in the same space...
@Turnyourtvoff wondering what you done in the end? I appreciate the problem had to contemplate, I have been shocked at how modern day dishwashers are all minimum 59-60cm depth. There is much more size variance with fridge freezers and plenty flexibility.
So this is the socket under kitchen bunker looking to reduce in depth size. Currently its home to an old freestanding chest freezer and would like to put a dishwasher in the space. Conveniently once upon a time there was a dishwasher in the space in the past, so there is easy plumbing options...
@Adam_151 yeah exactly that type of thing. In some cases I have single sockets that have even more plastic casing depth than that, to the point where the whole overall plug socket size is almost square shaped.
You know when you get those chunky white plug sockets with deep plastic casing that comes out from wall some inches, seemingly unnecessarily (or is it necessary?)....
It is very inconvenient, particularly in kitchen, when your washing machine or dishwasher comes out to far underneath bunker as...
That is because I don't know what I am doing. I never intended to mess with the electrics here. If I do, then I always take a before photo or two, or sketch out what is going on. On this occasion, it was more what has happened here, and what was going on there, particularly as never seen a light...
Lastly this photo for completeness shows the top of the inside just so can see what wires are coming out from the inside of wall.
To answer a previous question. Yes something did blow when I was assessing the light and moving it around and trying to turn it on/off. The consumer unit in a...
So this is what looks like now. All 3 yellow/green wires are attached to the screw tightly. I am not sure all 3 were though. I have this thought maybe 2 were and 1 was just loose (but not with a termination blocker as none were in place). The red wire to the right middle, is actually 2 red wires...
I am confident the red wires are right. As I knew these were connected like I have now when light worked before things fell apart. And tidying up the iffy red wires and cutting them back and reconnecting, this has been the difference in the living room light working again (assumed/likely).
I am...
Thanks for all the suggestions. So I did put all the yellow/green earth wires round the screw like in last photo. I realised I could just loosen the screw also and get a good fit, then tighten it up. I realised the 2 red wires that joined which were quite blackened had probably blew at some...
So was gluing some of those stone look PVC tiles to kitchen wall today. Thought I would do things properly and unscrewed the kitchen light switch to cut the hole out neat and have a professional look to things. So the tile sheets do look great around the light socket.
However some wires came...
