give me a rest man!! dont look at the screen while typing & the 1 key on my keyboard is playing up! dosnt work when i want it to and works when i dont want it too =[ p160 <<<<<correct woohoo!
i would bring it up with the boss. to be honest. im just wondering if they have an account with johnstons where they get a discount off etc.... maybe thats why they used it.
actually i have a battle plan for you if you want it looking flatter.
the bits where you have removed the paint it will be shallower than where the paint is.
so if you buy some primer or undercoat and apply a few coats on just the bits that have been scraped back it should start to become...
i agree with you. the likes of paint stripper would coust you hundreds! sand blasting is probably expencive too.
if you just remove the loose stuff or what you can and if you paint it you will notice dips in the wall where stuff has been removed. personally for a professional finish id torch...
as he said..... hes not got much coin [money] there for hes going for a cheap option of vaneer and painting it him self because believe it or not........everything to do with furnature kitchen etc thats white is actually extreamly expencive to buy.
erm 75% chance they wont 25% chance they will :)
thats one thing you have to keep an eye on is trades men some of them are totall scummy cowboys who cut corners. you should check how much they paid for the johnstons paint im pretty sure itl be cheaper to buy than dulux aswell and youve been...
dulux although it is a little more expencive the coverage is alot better. just make sure its softsheen and not matt.
with matt & a kitchen the steam and that makes the paint disintigrate due to it being all pigment.
with soft sheen its a slightly shiny finish that dosnt let steam affect...
im a painter and im just wondering when you applied the stain..... had the skirtings been varnished before? if so you can sand the stain off.
if the stain is on new wood you have no chance itl be sunk into the wood like a burst pen on a white carpet.
for the wall paper just make sure to...
as a painter ive done this many times!
i would reccomend you sand the doors and drawers with a p60 fine sandpaper to key it.
why would u use gloss? tbh gloss has no body and isnt a hard finish we usually use eggshell as its a flat finish which means u brush it on and the brush marks...
you get paints that do contain it but remember no driving after using as it has the efffects of getting you seriously high! my mate done it when we were doing a contract and he drove after not knowing and pranged the van and lost his licence due to it.
give it a couple of coats of white paint "match maker" = super cover 2 coats of that then apply the colour u want as the white will make the new colour show up better :) good luck :)
steel wool! perfect for it. clean them off with turps after
apply white primer
light sand with p60 paper
undercoat with white undercoat
light sand.....
dust off
2nd coat of under coat to give it body
sand off
couple of coats of gloss =]
