I'll reply to my own question. Yes it is the control box. The lockout button has been slightly melted by whatever has burned out inside it.

Well just to update. Yesterday I reset the lockout about 5 times. Was doing it because I was getting some warmth out of the radiators and meant we had hot water. The lockout was becoming increasingly less frequent, such that I last reset it at around 16:00 yesterday and it's run for about 21...
