Thanks for that. I think what I'll do is get a thermostatic mixer shower which doesn't need a colossal flow in order to get a decent shower. Ideally I'd like another shower room with an electric as back up but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

Is an electric shower better than a mixer shower if you have a combi boiler, though, if you discount the boiler possibly breaking?
