OK ta, I'll have a look later in the week as away first thing tomorrow for a few days. I guess t'ing in right next to the vent tee still needs the stat?

If I get the make/model of boiler, would you know if it had a manual reset? As it would be easier to combine than to move it!

Will move it, as can see how that would happen if a restriction occurs.

Boiler does cut out when set water temp reached in system, but guess that's not what you mean as I don't see how that's linked to the feed pipe?

It's been like that for 40+ years, running fine now, is it critical? I did move the vent as it was pumping over in its original position on high pump speed. Yep, I was talking about it moving from CH demand through mid position to HW..

Vent is as per drawing... Boiler is a back boiler, baxi I think 40+ years old, serviced regularly by local gas safe technician.

That's almost how it is plumbed, only difference is a 3 port, and feed pipe is plumbed to cylinder return.

Strangely it seems better now! I even took the valve out to check it worked OK, never put one in before but that's no excuse for not seeing the obvious, I knew which port went where, so think the brain must have gone to sleep! Oh well won't do that again, that's for...

An auto air vent just above the tank. Found the problem I somehow have overlooked putting the 3 port in wrong!.. Thanks again for pointing it out.

OK sounds about right! Here's a pic of the current Pipework that's accessible in case there are any obvious problems! Cheers Si.

Moved vent /expansion pipe which has stopped pumping over, but as I expected it has not fixed the problem with the hot water circuit! I can now however hear water trickling through the cylinder coil, so I imagine it is partially blocked which is causing my problems. The cylinder is...

Checked 3 port all working fine, will correct the vent and see what happens. Wondering if it is just the cylinder coil scaled up causing the boiler to cut out as its not been right for years! And system has only been run at the same time as the heating.

Just wondering if I've somehow stupidly mixed up my flow and return pipes, as I can't follow any pipes back to the boiler. I assumed the layout was the same as this http://www.gasman.fsbusiness.co.uk/images/contpic.jpg So I'm wondering now if I didn't take enough care to check the...
