Seeking advice on refurbishing front of house (top half only)

Thanks, that's a good point about the aerial cable. I think it might be a bit of a challenge trying to drop the cable for the light and the 12V doorbell cable down the cavity as there's an internal wall directly behind the light.

Seeking advice on refurbishing front of house (top half only)

I'm looking for any advice and tips anyone can offer in advance of a project I'd like to start later in the summer. I've attached a photo taken of my house to help illustrate what I'm working with. The top half is painted, and this is the part I'd like to freshen up. I'm not sure if there's...

    Galaxy Flex 20

Hi Jay, As oasistechnical has implied, you don't need a separate tamper connection. The system is known as FSL or double balanced which means that the control panel can work out whether the sensor is open, closed or being tampered with by measuring it's resistance value. So, if you wire up...

    Galaxy Flex 20

I hadn't seen there was a page two to this thread so hadn't seen the reply from oasistechnical when I posted. Glad to hear the system works fine in hybrid mode! Simon

    Galaxy Flex 20

Hi Jay, I haven't yet added any wireless sensors, though I do plan to in the next few weeks. I've already fitted the wireless module, just need to order a couple of wireless PIRs to test. According to the manual it should support both wired and wireless sensors and the configuration I've...

    Galaxy Flex 20

Hi Jay, Yes, I've wired up the system and it's all now working. Whether you need the resistors or not depends on the sensors you're going to use. Some of them have the resistors built in and you select the resistance values by using jumpers. These are the sensors I've used for my PIRs. I...

    Galaxy Flex 20

Thanks for clarifying, that makes sense. Makes sense to use a separate core for the second 0v connection I suppose. I guess they designed it that way so you end up with 4 wires in each of the 0v and 12v terminals in a system with all zones used. Once again, thanks for all your help. I...

    Galaxy Flex 20

Hi socdesign, Thanks, that information is really helpful and just what I was after. I did manage to find the installer manual for the Flex 20 on the Internet after posting my message. I think I have the information I need to get the cabling in place as part of my refurbishment work. I'm...

    Galaxy Flex 20

Hi all, I'm currently carrying out some home refurbishment and since I'd like to install an alarm in the near future I thought it would be a good idea to install the cables before I replaster. The alarm I'm considering is the Honeywell Galaxy Flex 20 since it meets all my requirements...
