    New gas supply question

its a mid terrace house, but it does have a side alley way which the pipe could be ran down....but given that there is existing pipe work running from the understairs cupboard to the kitchen for the boiler, it would be ideal to be able to go from the meter to the cupboard...

My main concern is that with the new meter position being at the front of the house and the boiler at the back, If i cant use the existing pipe I need to work...

Hello all, I've just been advised I need a new gas supply to my terrace property. There is an existing pipe that ran in from the front of the house, under the front room floor and exits in the understairs cupboard. The supply was live in 2005 but I have been informed its been disconnected...

Hi all, This is possibly a stupid question but i was wondering if a modern combi boiler needs a seperate central heating pump ? Im doing the pipe work 22mm flow and return, its about 25metres total pipe run, 7 radiators, about 12kw total with a vaillant ecotec pro 28 boiler. Would i need...

Central heating install question ?? Please help!

Thanks for all the replies, I have 2 last questions, feel free to go easy on me. Is there a limit or recommended maximum length when branching to a radiator, and the design of the system means it will probably have 2 tee's from the flow pipe, is there anything that I need to take into...

Central heating install question ?? Please help!

Hello All, I’ve decided to rip out the awful storage heaters in my house and put in a combi boiler system. I have decided to do a feed and return system for the pipework and had a few questions. Is it best to have a 22mm flow pipe with 15mm branches, and a 15mm return pipe? or should the...

    Overboarding Gap ?

Thanks for the reply! Unfortunatly the layout of the joists means I can only screw into one of them (unless i tear down the wardrobes). I did think about running a strip of wood along the top of the wardrobe to hold the boards in place but id guess this would be a lot more prone to movement?

    Overboarding Gap ?

Hello All, I have just about finished overboarding an old bedroom ceiling, but there is a build in wardrobe running the length of one wall, this leaves me with about a 12 inch gap between the wardrobe and edge of the plasterboard. I was really wondering what is the best way of finishing...

Hello all, I have the soil pipe running through the footings of my extension. As the pipe 90 degrees to the footings I have two lintels running over the top. The lintels have been raised about 80mm above the height of the footings. My question is, what should be underneath the actual...

    Sand for binding?

Hello all, I have just finished compacting the hardcore for my extension and was wondering what type of sand i use for the layer above? Sorry for what might be an obvious question but thought it better to ask rather than have the BCO asking me to remove a tonne of it. Many thanks !
