    Thermostat overriding the programmer?

Well putting the face back on I stupidly forgot to turn the power off so now it's gone anyway. Lets hope a new programmer sorts it. I'll let you know tomorrow.

    Thermostat overriding the programmer?

How would I test that doitall? Put the face of the programmer back on and take the red out of 9? What do I look out for?

    Thermostat overriding the programmer?

Ah I see sorry Matt - right with the front bit off the heating doesn't come on (there's also no power in the thermostat).

    Thermostat overriding the programmer?

I didn't know the central heating programmer wasn't attached to anything  So can it be wired to get it how I want it?

    Thermostat overriding the programmer?

Yeah that's right. That's how it is now and central heating comes on even when programmer says 'OFF' and thermostat is turned up.

    Thermostat overriding the programmer?

Yeah in that photo the heating was still working even when switched to "OFF" (as long as the thermostat was asking for it)

    Thermostat overriding the programmer?

Okay thanks. If I get the same model (just for easiness) is it an easy enough task to just take off the duff one and wire the new one up as per the images on the previous page?

    Thermostat overriding the programmer?

Matt1e - I have taken out the red link at the top of 9 (thermostat does not show power) and turned the programmer to turn central heating to "ON" - and nothing is happening. So is that as you guessed?

    Thermostat overriding the programmer?

Thanks - well I wanted it to feel like you are there (with a magnifying glass) :D Yup that's exactly what I'm saying. CH programmer says "OFF" and it still runs if the thermostat calls for it. I'll try taking out the red link of number 9 later and see how that works. So if that's...

    Thermostat overriding the programmer?

Excellent sounds like that's the solution. Any recommendations as to where to get it from?

    Thermostat overriding the programmer?

Yes that's what I thought but even when every thermo valve is set to maximum the central heating doesn't come on, unless the one in the living room "asks" for it. Hence the cold mornings even though its programmed to come on at half five.

    Thermostat overriding the programmer?

I'll look into those other stats. Thanks. Yes got thermo valves in all rooms other than living room.

    Thermostat overriding the programmer?

It's a Grundfos - part number 96281422. The brown and white wires go from number 4 go into the danfoss valve as below: To this The red wire from number 11 goes back into the wire box (at top). Then the brown wire goes from 11 into the programmer into the "L" To this...
