yeh, i wouldn't advise doing this yourself either. A plate heat exchanger can be anything from £100 to £200 plus labour.

yep,pablo's right, hot water heat exchanger. you need it cleaned/replaced and heating filter fitted so it doesn't happen agin.

the hydrow flow is £150 on its own so they are doing the heat exchanger for free. If you dont buy both i would personally go for the magnabooster as it sounds more like a sludge problem than a scale problem,you should be able to tell this when the heat exchanger is out.

if the hot water is going hot cold hot cold and the boiler is shutting down then firing up then shutting down,then its a sure sign your heat exchanger is blocked. If they replace this without fitting a heating filter then it will just happen again, so unfortunately i think the filter is a good idea.

everytime you bleed a rad your taking pressure out of the system, if this drops below 0.5bar the boiler will fail to light. markymark's right you need to top up the pressure to 1 bar via the silver flexible filling loop

try turnig off all the other rads that are working and see if this pushes heat to the cold ones.

It could be a trv fitted on the wrong side of one of the rads (return pipe). With the heating on and all the trv's open slowly turn down each trv one at a time and see if you can replicate the noise

have you got thermostatic heads (trv's) on the radiators?
