    vaillant tepid hot water

A big thank you to all who have given me the benefit of your expertise. I now have roasting hot water throughout the house. I changed my DHW heat exchanger which was leaking a bit anyway Cost £65 (brand new from ebay). I changed the servo and the divertor valve (£35 for the servo (plumb...

    vaillant tepid hot water

(it's not the servo either) Just a thought, given that my gas usage is over all higher yet my flow rate per minute is half of what it should be when drawing how water, could it be that the burner injectors are choked and therefor restricting the flow of gas? Could the working pressure at the...

    vaillant tepid hot water

Hopefully this is the information you are looking for. Pressure at meter is 28mbar pressure at meter with hot water running full is 23mbar pressure at meter with central heating on is 23 mbar pressure at check point on boiler is 7.5 mbar when CH or DHW in use. I can confirm that it's...

    vaillant tepid hot water

Thanks I've tried to get through to Vaillant again today with no success. There was a slight leak on the heat exchanger so I thought it was worth the effort changing it as I managed to get a new one (and new type) for £50. The reason I was going for the diverter and servo is that the last...

DHW heat exchanger changed. No difference.

    vaillant tepid hot water

I'm getting nowhere fast with this but here's what I'm going to do. Although the servo and diverter valve seem to be operating okay I'm going to replace them. I've checked the lines for blockages and all is clear. I'm also going to change my DHW heat exchanger as, although the flow isn't...

    vaillant tepid hot water

No he didn't use a digital manometer. It was a water filled one which he blew the water level back and forward to test it's accuracy. He checked the gas pressure at the front right hand side nipple below the burner. You are correct that the pressure is factory set at 5.1 and working pressure...

    vaillant tepid hot water

The corgi is here at the moment at the standing gas pressure is 8.5 and the working pressure is also a steady 8.5. he realizes this is higher than what the book states but thinks it should actually help??? He's checked the diverter valve, servo, central heating side etc and is stumped. He phoned...

    I'll do that. Many Thanks.

    vaillant tepid hot water

The flame stays at the same height continuously. Unfortunately I didn't measure the gas working pressure myself. I did specifically ask the corgi's if there was a problem with the gas pressure though (as both the fault finding guides I have for this model request that it is checked). I'm not...

    vaillant tepid hot water

Turned on the boiler. Amber light to left came on with ignition, green light came on and flames doubled in size to about 1", heard a vibrating buzzing sound with green light that sounded a bit like the fan? Couldn't say for sure if it was coming from the control box though but it does start when...

    vaillant tepid hot water

Thanks gasguru. It took 76 sec per revolution which works out as 14.36. Should it be running at approximately 24? Gas pressure problem? Slugbabydotcom I don't have a manometer to check the pressure while running the hot water but I'll get that checked. Both the Corgi's that came checked the...

    plumbing and central heating

That's a good point. Your pressure relief pipe could possibly be dripping away un-noticed. If the seal has gone on the pressure relief valve it shouldn't be an expensive repair.

    vaillant tepid hot water

I have a vaillant VCW GB 242EH. It's about 9 years old and has been serviced every other year. The problem I have with it is that the hot water temperature is now only tepid. The central heating works fine. The servo moves when hot water is drawn, the boiler fires up to full as normal, the servo...

    plumbing and central heating

The most common fault is a leak in your central heating circuit. An engineer will test this by charging the system and then probably shutting off the flow and return valves to prove where the fault lies. Check for any weeps from the radiator couplings. You may be lucky and find one weeping into...
