It is a Grant 90-140 multipass oil boiler, not sure if it is all up to spec as i'm only working on radiators and bits of pipework but will have a chat with them and make them aware of the things they should be concerned about. Thanks for your advice.
Thankyou for the reply, i think i know what is going on now as its got 22mm coming out of the cylinder then a 90 going up and a 90 across then there is the AAV and then down 90 again to the pump. So its venting the high point of that bit of the system?????????? If so then i should just be able...
So could it be just a faulty AAV and if I just replace it where it is would it be ok. It is quite an old one from the look of it so probably is knackered.
Hi everyone,
I have been doing some work on a friends central heating system(open vented with condensing boiler). They told me they had a leak in the airing cupboard and upon inspection i realised it was the auto air vent so bought a new one. Now, here is my problem! correct me if i am wrong...
Thanks for your reply.
No it hasn't got those just the roof beams and uprights at either side with coller beams joining one side to the other. Not sure but think they are called king pins or something. One joist is already cut through for the existing hatch but the new hatch is longer and so...
Not really sure what that means but i don't think its got those plates that hold all the timber together and there is a collar beam every 2.Sorry haven't got photos but there is a wall at 1 side of the existing loft hatch which will support that side. Was thinking if i double up on the trimmers...
There is nobody employin me as a professional but they do know i'm not an electrician nor do i pretend to be and i do not intend to do the work as it is notifiable work and has to be signed off by someone who is part P registered. I have told them that they will need an electrician to do the...
ok so here is another plan!!!!!!
At the moment there is a surface mounted grill type appliance 2.4kw which is wired into a fused switch which is part of the ring main for the kitchen. Is it possible to change the existing 4 ring hob for a new one therefore not adding any more to the cooker...
its not adding another 61 amps as there is already a ceramic hob installed which i would guess is between 6kw and 7kw so adding another hob of about 7kw would only add 29 amps(feel free to correct me if i'm wrong). also most of the ring mains circuits only supply 2 or 3 rooms which most sockets...
Ok so the CU has cooker on 32 amp mcb, immersion on 16 amp mcb, 3 lighting circuits on 6 amp mcb each and 5 ring mains circuits each on 32 amp mcb's. Couldn't get to the main fuse as couldn't get at the meter. The existing stove top and oven/grill i think are both on the cooker mcb but can't be...
Hi everyone
I'm fitting a new loft hatch for a friend but the one they want is 111cm x 55cm and the existing hole is 77cm x 61cm and already cut through one joist.I'm not worried about the width as it will only take a bit of adjustment to make it fit that way but was wondering if its possible...
Thanks for the reply, i'm not sure about the supply rating(i'm assuming you mean the main supply fuse) also unsure about the mcb on the cooker circuit. There is quite a few circuits on the CU as it is a big house with an extension so about 4 or 5 circuits for rings and about 3 for lights plus...
