    CRV Mrk2 Gearbox replacement

Hi. I have a 2004 Honda CRV. Works really well but it slips out of 5th gear. I need to gently keep it engaged as I'm driving. The action isn't good either. It doesn't slip in to gear properly, it feels like something is in the way rather than a worn gear? I know nothing about gearbox's so maybe...

Good for you. So what are the people supposed to do that you can't fit in? Think your missing it a bit.

mybuilder, rated people etc, which is best?

Well obviously there's a tradesperson out there just waiting for your phone call. No need to advertise. Tradespeople have been content with their lot for centuries..

So how do you ensure the tradesperson you hire is right for the job? What is wrong with the reviews? How should they be vetted? Maybe you should go into business recommending people you know??

"Hello Sharon, yeah I'm up to my eyeballs right now but I did notice you needed a bit doing, I can be over this afternoon" That's about right. Or he can book her in for a day when he knows he's free?

Not true. No one is sitting around. They are a way for tradespeople to contact people who wish to have work done. I can easily do this whilst on a job using my phone. The point is which website is going to give you the most choice?

mybuilder, rated people etc, which is best?

Quick answer mybuilder Why? If you post a job on Rated People your details will be available to buy for the first tradesperson who likes the sound of your job. Once it has been bought once then the next tradesperson can see it has already been bought and unless the job is particularly juicy...

    Foundations

Thanks. I think I have the information I need now. Can you recommend any further reading for extensions or foundations?

    Foundations

Thanks. That's what I was expecting to hear. Will the other walls be ok with 450mm depth foundations?

    Foundations

I'd like to build an extension at the back of the house in the picture. My question is. Considering the house is on terraced land. Would the side abbuting my neighbours house require foundations dug to the same depth as theirs? ie I'm concerned that the foundations if dug down to just 450mm...

    Extension Estimate

Thanks for the replies. Having thought about it further I've got a few more questions that you maybe you could help me with? I thought as a further money saving step I could dig and ay the foundations myself. Looking at the site though I realise it's on terraced land. To the left of the...

    Extension Estimate

Hi I'm buying a house which I'd like to extend out at the back about 4m. I'd like a 1 storey extension with a sloping or flat roof. The entire footprint would be about 16m/2. I can do all the internals like plastering plumbing and electrics as I'm a qualified electrician. How much do you...
