The gear lever will be locked in park because of a fuse,it's the same fuse that also tells the ECU that the brake pedal is depressed and also control's the wiper stalk. It's a 20amp fuse (on the interior board) usually marked STOP on the diagram. Hope this helps it took me ages to find it...
