same as chrisr, check the thermistor, should read about 10K-12K when cold, sometimes best to replace both stat at the same time. steph

sounds like the mixer is goosed, try and isolate the h/w supply to it and see if that gets the c/h working. steph

If the water is still flowing from the PRP( pressure relief pipe) then maybe the filling loop tap has been knocked open. steph

You would need to know the make and model to figure out the vent size you need but assume that it would be 100cm2( about a 5 inch core drill usually works) as to high or low, it doesn't matter as long as you don't block it up . steph

Could be a leak on the heat exchanger, I had to change one about 3 months ago for the same reason, ie no visible leaks on the rads or pipework. Just an idea mind you. steph

what is the room stat set to? (assuming you have a room stat) does it click when you turn it up ?
