    Cheers towman that sounds like a good idea, does anyone see that as being dangerous ? johnd, yes i do have heaters and pumps etc, but afaik no metal is in contact with the water, most metals are quite dangerous to many marine animals and rust quite quickly in salt water.

    thanks for the reply, on top of the 4x4 beams there will be a 18mm sheet of marine ply to spread the weight. the 4x4 are just for support. if i put 3 (one at the front, one at the back and 1 in the middle), do you think that would be more than enough ?
