Hi, unfortunately I think I'm a little out of my depth, initially I was just trying to connect the new thermostat which was obv wrong and that's what blew the fuse etc. I have already taken the metal from off to check the fan etc. Was this a mistake? Many thanks

Forgot to mention I've also replaced the internal 1a glass fuse in the boiler which wasn't broken but I replaced just in case. Its an upstairs top floor flat which I assume is "gravity fed" as there is a tank in the loft? Whilst decorating I've had the thermostat off where obv the heating...

Hi Everyone, I know this boiler is ancient but ideally I'd like to keep it as it's supposedly very hardy. Basically I think I've been a very silly boy and when attempting to change a room thermostat with guesswork......I know.... I have wired it up incorrectly and heard a pop/fuse blown type...
