    Gloss undercoat sanding...

You can touch up the area or paint the whole thing again with undercoat after you sand it. Then apply one coat of gloss. If it hasn't 'covered' then give it another coat of gloss.

painting or removing woodchip?? help please !

It can be very difficult to remove woodchip but it will come off, the best thing to use is a steam stripper. Once the woodchip is removed the walls with have to be prepared well before re-painting. Plenty elbow grease required!! :D

How to finish room lined with plywood?

Yes P.V.A is an adhesive, you will get the right stuff in D.I.Y stores then you need to thin it to the recommended level before applying.

How to finish room lined with plywood?

I would say the the only way to get a perfect finish would be to: 1. P.V.A the ceiling and walls. 2. Fill and tape all the joints with 2 coats of fast set and 1 coat of 'finish' (this needs to be done perfectly ie professionally). 3. Sand the whole lot 4. P.V.A ceiling and walls again 5...

    Sizing

The best (and qiuckest) thing to use is a thin coat of P.V.A which can be rolled on.

    Artex removal

You have 3 options: 1. Use a steam stripper to remove it - this is messy and is not really recommended as some consider the 'fumes' from the Artex to be dangerous. 2. Fill over it - coat it wih PVA, then use a ready mixed filler to smooth over it, sand and then coat again with PVA and...

    Plastering over woodchip

It is possible - You should coat the ceiling/walls with a thin downed coat of PVC sealer first then apply the filler, when it is dry give it another coat of PVA. That said, if you could get the woodchip off it would be better.

    Artex or Plaster

Personally I hate artex, so I would be happy with a skimmed ceiling, but if you really want artex then you should be entitled to have it.

    Chooseing a quality brush?

IMO Purdy make the best brushes for emulsion paints, they are expense but are brilliant and don't wear down as quickly as normal brushes.

You cheap skate gcol! I said it was a long story, more of a boring story really. This has been my nickname for a number of years now, it started when I was a kid and we used to play computer games. The name I would always put in to the score table was STU MAC, but as I WAS podgy my...

    gloss roller

First post for me. Buy the disposable gloss rollers, they come in a pack of ten for about £8. So it is only costing you 80p per roller and just throw them away and the end of each day, for the cost of 80p it is not worth cleaning them out.
