Hi, I have a Potterton Performa System HE. The hot water has been fine all summer. I turned the stat up last night and the boiler/system started making shuddering noises. I bled all the rads which were full of air which caused the system to lose pressure. I topped it up with water and some of...
I had a boiler fault so the system was drained. Engineer has filled it up and I thought I needed to add inhibitor.
Last time I used the filling tube without any problems. The water is not coming from the mains its coming back the other way.
thanks for the advise but I am not confident on removing a rad especially as I've had new carpets fitted. Is there no way I can do it from the filling tube?
Hi,
I want to add inhibitor into my pressurised system. I have a filling tube but when I undo it (the valve is shut) water comes out under pressure from the boiler end. Do I have to drain down before adding the inhibitor?
thanks
Not being an expert on these matters I did not want to mess with the pump. So I undone the shower head, blocked it and run the shower, this seems to have cleared the air. My question is, is it likely that the problem will come back and if it does do do I need professional help?
Hi, I hope someone can help. I recently had a new bathroom installed and had a new shower pump fitted. For some reason the pump will run for a couple of seconds when taps in the house are turned off. It does not happen 100% of the time but is very annoying and I am concerned it is running when...
Purchased Fernox Leak Sealer and put it into the system via the filling tube. Topped up the system to 1.5bar. When I got up this morning the system was empty.
Looks like I need some professional help. Can anybody recommend someone near Colchester, Essex or do i just need a heating...
The boiler was empty again this morning. It seems if I bleed the rads it empties much quicker than if I leave them. I tried the match on the towel rail and it did go out with a pop. So, what do I need to do? Still get the leak sealer?
Thanks
Stuart
Hi Graham,
The engineer who came told me to set the pressure between 1.5 and 2 bar. I have followed his advise so far. I would say you were right at about 4 metres so 1.2 bar would be correct.I certainly have not noticed a strong smell. Where does this leave me?
Hi Graham,
Thanks for the quick reply. It tends to be the two towel rads I have. I assumed it was because they are the highest in the house and the air gets forced round?
