Ravenheat CSI 85 Pump running intermittently day and night

My CSI85AT did exactly the same thing. It eventually started lighting and going out etc and then stopped lighting all together. The problem was the C.H. thermistor intermittently going open circuit. Eventually it stayed open circuit. This will cause the pump to run even if there is...

Ravenheat CSI85AT - water pump running but nothing

Just to finish this off in case anyone uses it for reference. I had ruled out ignition problems as, while the fault was intermittent, the the relay supplying the switched live to the ignition board could be seen and heard operating I also confirmed that the switched live was switched at...

Ravenheat CSI85AT - water pump running but nothing

Thanks Chris R. I'll check out the pots and thermistors tomorrow. I'm intrigued about the other causes of this problem - can you outline, I know this is a bit cheeky, but I'd like to check them out while I have the electrics in bits.

Ravenheat CSI85AT - water pump running but nothing

Hi, My Ravenheat boiler started to cut-out and then re-do the ignition sequence. Just like a short cycle but it would do this even when just started up and the internal pipes were very cool. Now the boiler does not fire at all. However the water pump runs whether there's a call for...

Modulator Polarity on Ravenheat CSI85AT combination boiler.

Thanks Tony. I also appreciated the extended answers you gave. Sue

Boiler working but radiators not heating up ....

I'd be very sure it isn't your valve before using a flush. Valves, even when open, are a pinch point so blockages tend to occur at valves even if they turn etc. This would probably mean a drain down and removing the valve. I could understand why you would not want to do this refilling can...

Modulator Polarity on Ravenheat CSI85AT combination boiler.

I had a problem recently and had to disconnect the gas valve. The boiler is now working. However both the leads to the modulator valve are the same colour although on testing they are DC. The voltage across the leads rises to about 9v once the boiler gets going but I can't see any difference...

Ravenheat - constant sparking - No flame fault

Many Thanks 'Topskins'. The condensate trap was fine i.e. full on one side only with the other draining freely. I disconnected the earth from the condensate trap and the boiler behaved erratically, starting shutting down etc. However, when I replace the earth and disconnected the HT lead it...

Ravenheat - constant sparking - No flame fault

Hi Topskins, Thanks for the reply, really appreciate it. Will check it out and let you know if this sorts it. Sue.

Ravenheat - constant sparking - No flame fault

Thanks Rob, any idea where I could get an HT lead from? Sue.

Ravenheat - constant sparking - No flame fault

Thanks for the reply Rob. I checked it and the resistance across the entire lead is zero. Do you still think it could be the HT lead? Sue.

Ravenheat - constant sparking - No flame fault

Hi, Can anyone help me with this problem. I have a Ravenheat combi boiler, mode CSI85AT. It has developed a fault. It started, while cold with a call for heat, by cutting out a few seconds after the main burner lit but immediately going through the ignition sequence again and lighting again...
