Yep done that .. I think it is more to do with the amount of water ..

The waste pipe is about 6ft long which goes straight out to the drain i am in a bungalow , pipe is about 4inch from the floor at the front of the bath and 2inch at the rear ..

I have done a bit of seaching around my-self and it is quite hard to get a definitive answer .. Had a look at John Guest site , and they say copper is preferable to brass for plastic pipes .. So to be on the safe side i think i will go with copper olives , just a bit of a pain -- new shower...
