Thanks for that ColJack just to test Sunray I dont think the shower was on at all as we are very good at switching it off when we finish and I dont recall any particularly louder bangs. I have removed the single brown cable and disconnected the other 3c&e and checked it with a meter...

At least I have identified the 3c&e with 2 spares. New pics now in my album under shower switch. Retaken this time lighter and a bit clearer The cable has been removed. It effectively put the showers 45A fuse on the lighting circuit. I have disconnected the other new colour 3c&e too...

No its not been fitted yet. Can it be in the loft? Theres a loop of cable in a box beside a light switch in the loft. Its about as wide as a 2.5mm but no where near as thick so I reckon its one of the 3cores with a bare earth.

Morning Guys I struggling to find people to come round as they are busy, so nuch for the recession! Last night a friend suggested I turn off the fan switch which he seemed to think should be outside the bathroom, Im more confused now shouldnt the fan be on the light switch?

It looks like all the cables are 2 core with a bare earth or 3core with a bare earth except 1 which looks like a 3core flex. Most of the bare earths are not used. I cant see the wires in the ceiling switch as they are too short and wont allow me to pull it down far enough, its just occured to...

That bit has been boarded over and I'm reluctant to rip it up as it looks like the builder has gone bust or something. I'm just thanking my lucky stars the roof was finished.
