Ok so all should be good then.
Out of curiosity if I switch my multimeter to tone and I connect from earth to black and it sounds is this the switched or perm live?
Wondered if anyone can help out here. I have a new light switch that has L1 L2 and common. The old light switch only had L1 L2 L3 and L4. The red went into L1 and black into L3.
How do I wire up the new switch? I do have a multimeter but don't like using it when the main is still on!
Ok thanks for the advise, looks like its a keeper and time to finish off the loft insulation. Unable to have wall insulation as its 1900 house with no cavity!
Hi,
Just after a bit of advise as to if this is even worth doing.
I have an old Potterton Boiler netaheat 22 (15 Years old?) which is running fine at the moment and i have seen a few offers on new boilers. Now if i was to spend £2k on a new boiler would this be a viable option in terms of...
Yes the valve spindle turns fine but want to know when fitting the new head if the valve spindle needs to be turned all the way to the left or right or even in the centre before putting the head back on or if it makes no difference?
Thanks
Silly question but I have taken the actuator off and coming to put the new one on where should it align up? Should I turn the knob / lever all the way to the left, middle or right or does it not matter before I put it on? Much appreciated for all the help so far.
When you push it, it has no resistance and stays in that position. Leaving it in either direction does not shut the boiler or water coming through. If that's the case I shall try a new motor, worth a shot I guess.
Hi I have an old poterton boiler and seems to work fine but it seems that now even though the timer or clock is set to stop the hot water is still heating up? The spring seems to have gone in the motorised valve would this be why? Or could it be anything else? I have to turn the mains off or...
Had a look round but unable to find anything. Are you able to repair drill holes left in upvc frames? Previous owner had drilled blinds into them and want to cover them up if possible.
Thanks
