I wasn't relying on MIL's ideas.. was just irritated by her .. 'know it all' ..
I've got a couple of quotes coming in - will attempt to get around 5.. maybe more. .
I'm thinking that yes, possibly people lie.. and get paid to do work..
:)
I meant on TV shows - like - 'love it or list it' .. or 'double your house for half the money'..
My MIL has decided that my extension will be about 50K.. I'm assuming the TV programmes have given her this idea..
Its a garage, utility and new living room - 4meters wide by mmmm 15meters...
HI,
I'm currently going through the building process slowly - and have been wondering how TV extensions are so much cheaper than the quotes we are getting..
how do we know when the quotes are realistic - I'm waiting on structural engineer specs then will be approaching builders...
actually symbols would be better than letters or colours..
so an earth for earth - an electric lightening bolt for live..
colours obviously confuse people.
I guess I'm asking the difference between 2 sets of bi folds - with a 'corner post' and the steels for a 'moveable corner post'.
The later will cost more as the steel needs to be cantilevered but 'how much' more.
For an idea one wall is 4meters long (was thinking of having 3meter wide bi...
I've done a little search but could not find anything..
I'm building an extension with bi-fold doors down two ends .. I saw this online and love the idea:
But I'm not sure how much it would cost.. does anyone have a rough idea.. I'm assuming the steel might be very costly.
thanks
IF there were a fire...and I was sleeping upstairs I don't see how the divide would put me at any level of danger... I'd still have 2 exit ways.. if my mum moved in - she'd be at no greater risk... surely it depends on fire exits which we can't see from the opening posters.. post. and how 'over...
We have a divide exactly as you describe to keep the heat in. Its been here longer than we have.. so I don't see how it would 'alert the council' to two families living in one house or alter council tax arrangements..
our last house had two kitchens (one up one down) it made no difference...
IME you wipe as you go - or paint over the coving skirting after..
I sometimes cut in to the bottom of coving.. once you sit down it look sfine, like its been underlined.. but you don't wan to paint on the front.
for the future - babywipes are great at pulling off paint on coving where...
