Thanks for your help so far, but can you give me a better idea of where the thermister is? I'm not sure what the heat exchanger is so I'm not entirely sure what I'm looking at!
I recently replaced the DHW Flow Switch on my Ideal Response 120 and despite the odd problem it has been providing hot water fine again. Over the last couple of weeks however its started to play by not always firing up the fan and not heating the water. Tonight, no matter which hot tap I...
I'm not sure of exact details, but given the fact my stopcock has only ever been fully on or fully off, I'm inclined to believe its the same as before. Its pretty powerful, if that makes a difference?
FYI, I got a new flow switch, put it on and still had the same results. Decided to take the right-hand panel off to follow the route of the wires and found the socket for the switch hanging off the circuit board...
Having said that, it only works perfectly 70-80% of the time. I've noticed...
The boiler was in the house when I moved in, so I've no idea what (if anything) has been done to it before I arrived. All I've done is drained the system a couple of times in the past to prevent it overpressurising.
Recently you diagnosed a problem with my Ideal Response 120 not heating water - you recommended I clean or replace the DHW flow switch. I've cleaned it and it worked for a couple of days but now its behaviour has become erratic. Sometimes it works perfectly and others it starts (eventually)...
I've got an Ideal Response 120 which you've recently helped me fix when it was over pressurising. Recently I've found that its stopped firing up consistently when I turn on any hot tap. The central heating system seems fine, but I have to repeatedly turn the sink hot top on and off and listen...
I completely drained the expansion valve this morning, repressurised the system and its now working flawlessly - doesn't rise above 1 bar now and stays pressurised after use.
Thanks to everyone for your help with this.

I drained some of it last night and left it overnight, and when I cam home tonight its working again! The pressure is staying at 2 bar constantly so I think I'm on the right lines. Do you think its worth fully draining the EV?
Having taken the front off and had a look round I'm a bit more savvy with what goes where, but what does the expansion vessel look like, and whereabouts should it be?
I've had the above model boiler in my house for a number of years, and last winter I noticed that after every use of the central heating the system would completely depressurise. For one reason or another I didn't get round to looking at it, but this year its become an annoyance so I've...
