I was up in the loft today and noticed a few tears/holes in the roof lining. Havn't noticed any water coming in so the tiles appear to be doing their job, but want to address this before we head into Winter.
I found this video which looks doable:
Is that the best way to repair something like...
I am boarding some of my loft for storage and am a bit confused on the best way to strengthen the existing joists. I have read conflicting advice, some say you can add additional joists on top and perpendicular to the exsting ones. Others say do them parallel and some say increase the height of...
We are attempting to change the light fitting in our lounge that is connected to two light switches. It has two brown, two blue and an earth wire.
However the light fitting we have purchased only has room for 1 of each wire. We have looked at a number of guides online and some say it is fine to...
Thanks.
I have taken a deeper look and removed the ducting from the top of the hood. See attached picture.
The install manual says use 150mm - 125mm diameter ducting. The connector part is 150mm width, in then tapers in and the inner ducting appears to be around 115mm. The actual entrance...
We have a range master oven cooker hood that has an extractor fan venting outside.
I have confirmed there is no blockage in the ducting to the outside and I have made sure the ducting is fully secure to the top of the hood exit hole.
But for some reason the fan seems to be partially blowing...
I guess I have a misunderstanding of how the boiler the cylinder system works.
I assumed the return temp on the boiler in this scenario would be basically the same temp as the water coming from the cylinder. Does the cylinder not send its cold water to the boiler to heat up, then the boiler...
Thanks. I assumed that the return temp would be lower if the cylinder was set lower.
I can't quite get my head around how the return temp on the boiler gets up to 65deg if the cylinder stops calling for heat at 50deg.
Am I wrong in my understanding of how this system would work.
1. Cylinder...
I have a Heatrae Sadia premier plus PP250B unvented hot water cylinder and a Vaillant ecoTec plus 618 system boiler.
I want to adjust the temperature of the hot water cylinder to save a bit of money, but the controls appear to have no effect.
I want to set the temperature to around 50/55ish...
Oh that's helpful thanks. I do not know exactly when it was installed. We moved in March 2022, hard to say exactly when the UFH was installed during development. Maybe sometime in 2021.
Definitely interested in seeing the curve. Do you have a link to the manual for the newer AS Flex model...
I have a Grundfos UPM3 Flex AS pump for my UFH system.
The lights on it are as follows:
LED 1: Flashing green maybe every second
LED 2: off
LED 3: Solid yellow
LED 4: Solid yellow
LED 5: off
I understand the yellow LED's indicate the speed/performance setting it is set to and I can change this...
I purchased a infrared thermometer to monitor the surface temperature of my floor with the UFH turned on. I have been monitoring it for a few days in the same spots and recording the data every 2 hours during the day. It seems I have a few hot/cold spots in locations I would expect there to be...
I do have a decent electric oil radiator that I can use. I'll compare the energy usage against the boiler over a couple of weeks and see which is more cost effective. Would prefer to use the UFH as it is a more comfortable heat and it keeps the temperature at a more steady level. But if it works...
