We recently had our combi boiler cleaned of scale as we had no hot water. The plumber said he could fit a filter in the HW return inlet that I could remove every so often and it would prevent scale getting into the HW heat exchanger.
Where can I buy such filter?
It's a shower/bath mixer tap. The problem exists on both the tap and shower side of the mixer.
Wouldn't the heat exchanger affect all taps in the house?
The cartridge itself was fitted in a sleeve. You are right, I couldn't see inside the that, but everything else looked free from scale.
I haven't ever isolated the water apart from at the main stop cock, so I doubt there will be a problem with the HW service valve

In terms of the pipework, I have fitted a dishwasher but that shouldn't effect anything?
I have a Baxi Duo Tec Comdensing Combi and a Thermostatic shower.
For 6 months it is has been running fine but recently the shower runs hot and then cold. I can hear the boiler switching on and off every 30 secs.
