    Ladder help

Never built a tower in my life, not a clue. Looking at my access and the towers available for hire I'm not sure it's as easy as it looks on youtube. Think I'll just get scaffolding built for me, I don't think I know what I'm dealing with otherwise

    Ladder help

Appreciated, was 50/50 expecting to be told 'just do it!' Am looking at hiring a tower if I'm perfectly honest, might be mad as a DIYer but that might be the best bet. Still, even with that all told it may be cheaper to get someone to come and do it if they've already got the equipment. Towers...

    Ladder help

Trying to access my soffits with this ladder so I can at least repaint. Trouble is, the further I climb the more swingy and wobbly the thing gets. I'm two thirds of the way up and there's some serious sway starting to happen. I'm not even that big of a chap. Question is, have I got the right...

Help with soffits / fascia boards

Looking for some advice on replacing / repairing my facial boards plus possibly a soffit as well. Not quite sure where to start, I'll obviously need some new panels but I'm not quite sure what to by as there's so many different types. They don't think the style I've got is available any more so...

Elderly relatives freezing hive wiring help

I don't suppose the loose yellow wire needs to go with the other yellow wire (this joins on to a black wire going up to the boiler?)

Elderly relatives freezing hive wiring help

Nope, I'm afraid not. Difference here is the thermostat has been completed removed (not just bypassed as per last week) With both red wires on the same connector as the white wire the receiver is powered but it's not activating the boiler when I try and call for heat. Any thoughts?

So removing that red dangling at the bottom against the yellow is the receiver power, hence that configuration meant no receiver light.

Elderly relatives freezing hive wiring help

Sorry for the slow response on this one, life's been a bit frantic at the moment. OK, so I took took the red/yellow out of the connector and joined the red on to the white and red like below. However, no boiler this time. Can you Mind having another look? Thanks again!!

Water soaking through shed walls. Help!

I know it might sound a bit desperate but I'd imagine a bit of guttering couldn't hurt? Can't say I like the idea of reproofing from the inside either and as you said it'll just promote mold and rot. Unfortunately I didn't build the shed, came with the house! Oh well.

Water soaking through shed walls. Help!

But Is there anything I can do at all, apart from replace the shed in other words? What about slapping bitumen or roofing compounds all over the thing. Or cauking up the exterior panel joins? Anything?

Water soaking through shed walls. Help!

I'm noticed the inside of my T+G shed walls are soaking in water big. At first I thought I'd put a few coats of shed paint to try and seal it up and see how if that resolves it. Unfortunately no luck. Just rained and the inside of the wall is getting wetter and more rotten by the day. Any...

TRV on the wrong side. Oops

TRV on the wrong side. Oops

It was very hard to tell what was the flow in or the flow out side by looking at my radiators. Well, it seems at least on one radiator I fitted the new TRV on the flow-out end rather than the flow-in lock shield end. Is it a big deal or not, generally speaking? Be a pain to have to do the whole...
