Help! £1000 for Underfloor Heating, need to decide by 8am!

Well the plumber had a baby last night! :) So he didn't make it this morning but sent his deputy instead - he was helpful but I don't think has had as much experience so couldn't really advise me. They've got plenty of other stuff to be getting on with though so they've given me an extension...

Help! £1000 for Underfloor Heating, need to decide by 8am!

Thanks Dan - I may have over-reacted to Tony's comments, I was a bit shocked. Web based calculators said I'd need somewhere between 10,000 and 13,000 BTUs. If 1w = 3.4BTUs and the floor area without the kitchen units is around 30m2 - using the 70w/m2 figure it'll only output 7140 BTUs. So...

Help! £1000 for Underfloor Heating, need to decide by 8am!

I'm stunned that you would make this comment - what exactly does insulting me achieve? I fail to see what relevance 'logic' has here - the recognised idiom is 'more money than sense', generally meaning someone is profligate. If anything, the opposite is true with me - I've overly careful with...

Help! £1000 for Underfloor Heating, need to decide by 8am!

Thanks guys - good to have your opinions :) Sorry Dan, that really wasn't very clear about the Nest bit - I meant with Nest combined with radiators. To be honest, it's hard to express what I meant, I think what I was trying to say was - the advantages of the Nest thermostat is that it can...

Help! £1000 for Underfloor Heating, need to decide by 8am!

The short story: I've recently realised that my open plan kitchen + living extension floor is suitable for underfloor heating. I was previously happy enough with the idea of 2 radiators + a plinth heater but given how much people rave about underfloor heating I'm thinking I would be foolish...

Is a 760x760 shower too small? Design advice needed please

The guy in the more upmarket bathroom showroom said just a straight 760x760 square shower (no part glass side panel). He didn't come across as a particularly creative thinker though. I've sent it to my architectural technician anyway and I'll see what he reckons. Thanks for your help...

Is a 760x760 shower too small? Design advice needed please

Right, I went to a proper bathroom showroom today with proper bathroom design consultants and everything (not just a spotty kid like in B&Q). They still didn't have many different sized showers for me to stand in but I did have a long chat with one of the guys. He confirmed that pretty much...

[/url] haha - brilliant. I'd give it a week before I dropped my toothbrush in the loo.

Is a 760x760 shower too small? Design advice needed please

Thanks big-all, nice idea but I not sure I'll be able to do that. This is the front of the house - that's a cast iron soil pipe (so I'd have to replace the whole thing) and I'm in a conservation area. You can see the sink waste pipe there too. It matches the other semi so I'm not...
