Yes I did leave the drain valve open whilst repressurising the expansion vessel - The vessel was pumped up to just over 10 psi where 1 Bar = 14psi and the water pressure was set between 0.7 Bar when cold. There seems to be conflicting information on the forum with regards to pressures -...
The problem has now been resolved - it turned out that there was NO air pressure in the Expansion Vessel and this allowed the water to expand increasing the pressure sufficiently to activate the PRV and allow dripping, sufficient when water had cooled to reduce the boiler pressure. The problem...
Thank's to all members for your contributions especially nickso - I have already ordered a new PRV and will have my expansion vessel checked in the hope that both measures will resolve the problem. I will let you know the outcome.
nickso -
The pressure of 1 rising to 2.5 bar is according to baxi within the correct operating range but as you indicate it might be worth my while having the expansion vessel checked - but would this explain where the daily additional water added to the system is lost ?

The pipes...

Your understanding is correct - and the conclusion that I arrived at was that there was a leak somewhere - As stated the floor boards have been raised and the joints where checked by the finger test and also by wrapping toilet tissue around each in an attempt to detect leaks. There is no...
Tnks for a fast reply. Yes all the joints underneath the floor boards have been checked - the floor boards are currently up. Hence the urgency in trying to resolve the problem.
I have a baxi 105e boiler installed approx 2 years ago and since its installation I have had no end of problems attempting to resolve its gradual low pressure problem - as time has progressed the problem has slowly but surely become worse to the point where if I switch the boiler off over night...
