Further to your suggestion lavo-1, despite cleaning everything and running the 90 degree wash with a descaler, the problem persists. I have called Bosch as it is covered by a 2-year warranty. I will update this thread if I can extract information from the engineer using a smile, or if not, tea...

Thanks very much lavo-1 for adding to this. I have run a 90 degree was (highest possible temp) with a weak descaler solution. I'll update this thread as soon as I have done a whites wash.

The new circuit board has been in for 9 months now and there have been no further problems. The circuit board is underneath and well away from the combustion chamber. It needs to be cool.
