    power to me shed

Nor would I dream of suggesting that reference to a website may help avoid the nasty shocks you can get when trying to hook up to live equipment - especially if it's turned on...

    power to me shed

I found that a bit confusing too - if 2.5mm isn't rated for 32a, how come you can use it on a 32a protected ring main, but not on a radial? Is it because if you have a ring, there's power arriving from each direction? Sort of makes sense, but could anyone explain it a bit better? Cheers

    power to me shed

Yup, I started at the Garage Unit, connected all my sockets like a daisy chain and finished up back at the unit. Goody - thanks everyone, really helpful :D EDIT: I'm such a safety-freak - I'd have the National Grid turned off first if I could!

    power to me shed

Feed to the shed consumer unit was done by local sparky from a 40a MCB in the house consumer unit (using armoured cable, as it's buried in the garden). "Hope you planned for that before starting" ...If I'd thought about it beforehand, I would have started by dating an electician, but it...

    power to me shed

Wrong again. I replied after 3 months, not a year and, without your comments, the thread may be helpful to others who are interested in DIY, no matter the time frame. On the other hand, you're probably the only person interested in reading your unhelpful and innaccurate...

Actually, he will get a reply, albeit a little on the late side. Some of us only ask once, then wait patiently. Far from wasting time, very helpful, thank you. :D I understand that this kind of forum can become annoyingly confusing to regular contributors, but I don't think it's helpful...

    router templates

I've lost my instruction book, and can't remember how to create a template. I want to rout out a recess in a butcher block, into which I can drop a smaller plastic chopping board. The plastic board has rounded corners. Which bits do I use in order to: 1. follow the outline of the small...
