the pan connector is pvc

both the soil pie and pan connector are PVC so wont be cemented and i dont really want to hit with a hammer ....i suppose the proof is in the pudding.....just wondered if this is a regular thing..i.e the connector fitting over the soil pipe as opposed into it ?????? And will it be pushfit...
