Hi, wondering if anybody can help. I've been working on a conversion project to turn my gas fire into a woodburner feature fireplace. Done a really good job and it looks nice. Only ive boarded the job and skimmed the boards before putting the stone in as the half. Its not come out to bad only the are a few indents and rough patches on the finished skim coat now it has dried and im a bit dissapointed but as im not a plasterer its to be expected i suppose. What i was wondering is if anybody can let me know if its possible to fill theese and smooth them off with standard polyfilla before i paint the breast or if there is another way to go about it? Thanks :)

I've used Fastset in these circumstances. Apply it with a trowel and sand it back. It sands easy and feathers in good, but makes a lot of dust. Use a sanding block.
