Hoover six 1200 wash/dryer machine not operating properly.

Hi all.
I have a Hoover six 1200 wash/dryer machine and it started a while ago making an odd screach sound. I have checked the motor and belt. All is fine there. It does not do anything now and I am thinking it could be the program select dial as that was where I considered the noise came from. Does anyone know if this is likely or if it is even possible to get a spare.
