Somebody has bought an item I had for sale.

The beginning of their postcode is LV.

Odd, I thought. There are no LV postcodes in the UK....

I don't think they read the bit where I put "posts to UK"...

He lives in Latvia!!

I have sent a bilingual note asking if he wants me to post it to a UK address or if he wants to pay £17.00 to forward it to Latvia.

Not heard a bean so far.........

But we're all part of the same European superstate now, aren't we?

I had something like that a couple of times in the past. I think once I calculated the postage, sent a revised invoice and the person just paid so out it went - Presumably he either didn't care how much it was going to cost, or was used to dealing internationally so had a rough idea what it would be. Other times I never heard back from the buyer and just had to have eBay cancel the transaction.

i bought a dewalt saw that i put a cheeky bid on,pick up only.

won it and got a email from the seller saying you do know i live in oswestry,im in eastbourne on the south coast, anyways 13 hrs later i was back home.

I bought a hob for spares from deepest South Wales which was pick-up only.

I paid a little extra and the lady kindly packed it up and sent it by courier.

Saved heaps of time and diesel.

Oi, that wasn't for spares, that was the one I left in my house for the tenants!

I had a similar issue to yours myself, but in reverse. I was so used to buying things off eBay in the UK that I was on autopilot after moving across the pond and just ordered something without thinking. The seller also didn't post overseas so had to get the item delivered to my sister who forwarded it to me. Ended up costing me a few quid more in total than it would have if bought from a shop but at least it was something I couldn't get over here.

You can get some good prices on couriers these days. I once sent a lawn mower to the North of England in a huge box and I think it cost around 30 quid. I had to load it into the van because the driver was too effin weedy but it got there ok.

You are an inspiration gregers - I'm watching a spare engine for my van and was thinking a 200 mile round trip was a bit much - maybe I'll do it now if I win ;)

Hope your engine holds together!:sneaky:

My buyer does not want to pay for delivery.

What would you do?

Write off the sale or raise it as non-payment with ebay and get a refund?

they shouldve read the ad properly,so raise a non payment and give them bad feedback.

nige,it was a day out for the family aswel:).
so it cost 50 for the saw 35 for diesel and 30 for lunch so total of 115 quid.there still going for 150-200 so i know i could get my dosh back, thing is that was about 8 years ago and ive still never used the thing

Don't tell 'er indoors that!

It's been your most productive purchase EVER!!
