How to calculate the resistance of a wash pump

Hi, I have a wash pump that I think is faulty but I cant find any data on what the resistance of the windings should be. I have a photo of the pump (attached). It is single phase with a L and N and measures 12 ohms. Does that sound low for a 470W pump?

Wall prep before tiling best practice

I've just spent the day removing old tiles from my bathroom. One wall was lath & plaster and the others were plasterboard. I managed to save the lath & plaster wall because someone had tiled over woodchip so the woodchip came off with the tiles and saved the lath & plaster. The same cannot be...

Bosch Serie 2 Dishwasher not drying

I have an SMS50T22GB/09 dishwasher that has stopped drying at the end of the cycle. It also wasn't heating the water during the wash cycle but I replaced the heat pump and now the water heats during the cycle but just not for the drying part. Any ideas?

Rads only heating at the top.

We've got an old Georgian house that has a system operating rads on 4 floors. The LG is 2.6m from the GF where the boiler and pump is located. Dulux Satinwood paint reacting!

We're using Dulux Satinwood paint for metal and wood. It's the water based one and not the solvent based variety. It seems to react with the paint beneath it especially on factory primed MDF. I think we're going to change what paint we're using so I'm looking for recommendations. We used to use...

Does anyone recognise this door type

Hi, I've recently moved into a place that has what looks to me like a kind of door kit that includes lining, architrave, hinges, locks and of course the door. I need to replace one but don't know what to look for. Does anyone recognise it and can point me in the right direction?

Is a stub stack required in this situation?

    Refinishing furniture

We've got quite a lot of furniture bought a few years ago from Oak Furniture Land. Most of it is still in good nick but the pieces that were in the kids rooms have aged badly due to them not using coasters for drinks etc. There are no rings but the finish has started to 'peel' revealing the wood...

    How to fix noggings

Hi, I need to build a couple of stud walls that run parallel with the joists. The BCO has told me that I cannot build the wall on top of the floorboards and I must run new double joists. I understand that I can put noggings between the existing joists at either end of where the new stud wall...
