everything is switched off and unplugged and its still not working. We have checked behind each socket and everything looks okay. Everything was working prior to a thunder and lightening storm last sunday.

All plug sockets are unplugged and switched off. As soon as reset RCD and power switched back on it trips out again. Only affects the plug sockets not the light switches.
