    Is the compression nut tight? Have you used inserts? Polyplumb has a ring of metal teeth in the fitting which grip the pipe, be very suprised to get any movement.

    If the anaconda is on the supply side from the mains in the street, only transco can alter it, Internal pipes for domestic pipework can be altered by any RGI.

    Flue only needs about a 3 degree fall, so not much, It's possible the condesate pipe (white about 3/4 inch diameter) is backing up...not so familiar with the boiler, but you can check the installation of this pipe and ensure it has no rise in it anywhere. Can check the condesate trap...

    Unlabelled black switch is the manual lever, is assume it a two port?? put it into manual and leave open...heads just snap on and off so an easy replace... :D

    How long do you intend to remain in your current property?? If more then 10 years, say, you'll have to replace it sometime and you may as well enjoy the best years of a new boiler yourself. Also save any money on repairs of an ageing boiler....
