    Gas Safe or not

    Hi, wondering if someone could clear this up for me. Do you have to be gas safe registered to alter a flue on a boiler? it would be done correctly taking all the correction factors into account ie. length, any elbows, correct baffles etc.

    well that fuse way has a cable going into it, looks like 6mm, the fuse plate is red which usually indicates as being 30 amp, I just persumed that would be your cooker. Depending on the cookers size it could just be on your ring main, but thats a different story all together!!! :wink...

    If the RCD on your consumer unit 1) Protects the circuit that the RCD socket is on, AND 2)is 30ma (sometimes shown as 0.03A) then no, the RCD socket is not needed. Ther is no discrimination between two protective devices of the same rating
