    Indesit dif04

Our Indesit has just started a problem where you can turn it on, it beeps, start to hear it filling then it stops and does nothing. If I open the door, then same LEDs are on but if I try and change the program it beeps a couple of times and there is some water in there and I have to hold the...

    Composite cladding

Ah sorry I'm talking cladding not decking. I can see it could be done easier with decking as they are straight edgings but the cladding is to gue and groove. It's just a way of improving the some steps on a budget where the render is peeling off. Just chatting here because I think it would be...

    Composite cladding

Ok so that's it, they can't be cut and you either have to find the width you need or just start and stop wherever the board finish with maybe a bit of trim to pad it out

    Composite cladding

Ok sorry maybe it's me being dumb. So basically my wall is 1200mm deep and the boards are 157mm wide so I'm going to need 7.6 boards. 7 boards will only cover 1099mm so what do I do with the remaining 101mm because I can't see how you can cut the boards to fit with the way they are designed to...

    Composite cladding

Hi guys, I'm contemplating installing some cladding around our outside steps which backs into a box that we use as a bench. Installation looks straightforward enough but what I can't seem to find is if I install them horizontally, can the boards be cut horizontally should you end up with a gap...

    Decking newbie

Yep I put them down every year and I've even taken to netting it every September to prevent them hatching. The problem is it's surrounded by a high wall one side, garage wall on the other and high fence panels so the sun doesn't really get in there

    Decking newbie

So after 8 years of struggling with leather jackets, I'm now fed and thinking of decking it. The area is about 16sqm and everything I've been reading online, it seems you can just put membrane down then lay the joists straight onto the ground? I was expecting to have to cement posts into...

    Primer/undercoat

Bumps mainly and few surface cracks. Thinking something like this https://www.diy.com/departments/toupret-fine-finish-ready-mixed-finishing-plaster-1kg-tub/1849584_BQ.prd

    Primer/undercoat

and not worry on the primer then. Also need to try and sort some bumps out on another but that's a whole different story

    Primer/undercoat

Kinda yes but looking at it the primer should be just enough to do my 6sqm purple wall and the whole of the room is about 18sqm so might just squeeze 2 coats out of the main colour. I hate painting but thinking cheaper to do ourselves and just a bedroom. Price wise the 2.5l plus 750ml primer...

    Primer/undercoat

Ah ok thanks, I just read to use a white primer to cover over dark paint but sounds like that's not necessary then Just read some more bits and saying use a cheap white paint first then our chosen colour
  15. S

    Primer/undercoat

Only thought that I needed primer or undercoat to cover the dark purple feature wall, which I assume is Matt Emulsion before I put on my new Matt Emulsion white paint.

    Primer/undercoat

Hi all, Just looking at painting our bedroom a white but tis currently magnolia with a purple feature wall so I understand I need some primer. I'm finding mix messages online about water or oil, some primers showing wood and metal but multi purpose. So I've found this one...

    Best exterior wood

If I went with lengths of timber, what timber would I be looking at and would it still need regularly treating?

    Best exterior wood

Ok thanks I'll take a look. Alternatively I was just thinking I could use the osb sheet that's there as a flat base, removing the peeling bits best I can, and then screw composite decking on top
  19. S

    Best exterior wood

Yep I reckon that's what killed our osb. Although painted with fence paint so assumed it would be ok and I see they say seal the edges but I'm not sure what with. So not much difference then between marine and osb
  20. S

    Best exterior wood

Yeah that's what I'm leaning towards. Wasn't sure if replace osb worth it or marine ply, reading that both should work. We put a cushion on it to sit, but the wood needs to stay out all weathers
